This research presents the systematic development and validation of a Gas Chromatography with Flame Ionization Detection [GC-FID] method for the quantitative evaluation and purity assessment of 4-Hydroxy-2-butanone [4H2B] and 1,3 Butylene Glycol [1,3 BG]. Aligned with the International Council for Harmonisation [ICH] Q2 [R1] guidelines, the method was rigorously evaluated for key performance indicators, including specificity, linearity, precision, accuracy and robustness. The experimental results demonstrate exceptional baseline separation, minimal peak distortion and robust reproducibility, rendering this method highly suitable for routine impurity profiling and quality control assessments of biobased value-added chemicals.
